 I am writing a Harry Potter Lord of the Rings crossover, and I really need some help. I need a Beta reader who really knows Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings well. I am worried about inaccuracies especially when it comes to Lord of the Rings. I just wanted to warn you ahead, that English is not my first language. I need a beta who is brutally honest with me and will point out any grammatical, spelling, or canon errors.

Time Frame: Is set in Harry's sixth year. I started this fanfic before I read HBP, so the story is not really canon complient. I really need help to make this up to date with the current canon.

I have a rather stupid question. How do you actually post an icon on the journal so that it changes and it more than one picture, I know I sound stupid, but I want to learn. Also how can I best give credit for an icon I have borrowed. I thought of using some of the fantastic icons that were created here, but I am afraid to take them because of being accused of stealing.

I would be very glad if someone could answer my question. I know you must all be laughing at  me right now, but remember we were all new here once.

Well, I LOVE TOLKIEN! I think however that we write fan fiction because we want to improve our writing. Canon is important, but I refuse however to become a Tolkien fundamentalist who flames other people just because they do not strictly obey canon.
I do however get angry if I send someone constructive criticism and s/he send me back a mail saying something like “OMG how dare u flame m fanfic. It is only fanfiction I can do whatever I want” I get angry. You are free to try out certain plots, but if you end up believing that you are better writer than Tolkien and that you can make Celebrian act like lie an animal in heat, sorry about that, no it’s just no. Please show some respect to the characters. Just show that you understood that Tolkien intended the characters to act a certain way. No big deal. You can still be creative, without slaughtering the characters.

GAFF (Godawful Fanfiction) is finally up again after being down for a month. I realy missed snarking badfic.
